Site History

Timeline:

  • October 1996 - Site begins as one page under the name 'Parrotheads In Paradise' without knowing that is the official name of the parrothead clubs.
  • January 1997 - We take suggestions for names of the site and our lone visitor suggests 'jimmydreams.com'. To avoid the sharks with change the 's' to a 'z' and the name sticks.
  • July 1998 - Adopted the slogan: Where Tequila's The Fuel and Parrotheads Rule! while tailgating in Cincinnati, OH for the Jimmy Buffett show.
  • March 1999 - The first live Jimmy Buffett show airs on Radio Margaritaville, the next morning you can download the entire concert from JimmyDreamz creating a stir amongst the Buffett people and putting this site on the map.
  • June 1999 - JimmyDreamz VIP passes begin to appear on the site.
  • February 2000 - Live concert chats begin on the site.
  • June 2000 - Jimmy Buffett acknowledges he is a site visitor.
  • September 11, 2001 - A sad day we will never forget..
  • July 2004 - Radio JimmyDreamz begins broadcasting parrothead music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Live concerts are also being broadcast on this upstart radio station.
  • Spring 2005 - The JimmyDreamz Live setlist ticker is launched providing fans a live update of the Jimmy Buffett concert as the show unfolds.
  • 2006 - Our 10 year anniversary. Our anniversary party took place at Monty's in Key West on November 3, 2006 drawing in many musicans, friends, and Coral Reefers.
  • 2007 - The second annual Key West party was held at Dante's, formally Monty's.
  • 2008 - The third annual Key West party was once again held at Dante's. Former Coral Reefer Fingers Taylor and KD Moore have performed at all 3 events.
  • 2009 - Complete site upgrade underway. We launched the first Jimmy Buffett concert online that you watch from start to finish 10 years after we offered the first concert download. This took place on March 17, 2009.
